Nebraska State Tournament

  2017 USSSA Nebraska AAA State Tournament:

Pool play game one: The boys played their most complete game of the season and came up short against a solid Lincoln Dodgers Stars team 7-3. Broc pitched an unbelievable game going 5 1/3 innings allowing five earned runs, eight hits, no walks and striking out three. Both Ian and Will had two hits.

  Pool play game two: After a three and a half hour break between games (thanks NE USSSA) the boys showed some exhaustion. The pitching definitely wasn't there nor were the bats. We lost 9-5 against the Millard Red Legends. No disrespect to them but they were a team we should have beaten. Miles had two hits and struck out five while pitching.

Tomorrow we have one bracket game against a very solid Omaha Tigers Black at 4:30. The boys are going to have to show up to play in order to extend the season. Good luck Bat Busters #nextpitch

=======================================================================================================================

  Finally have a chance to do our last tournament update of the season. Unfortunately the Bat Busters did not end the season on a win this season but we ended it in the place we wanted to be, at the USSSA 9U AAA State Tournament.

  In our bracket play game the team lost to the eventual State Champion, Omaha Tigers Black 17-6. We got off to a rough starting allowing seven runs in the first. Beau, Ethan, Camden, Ian and Gavin each had a hit. Both Ian and Camden had a double w...hile Beau had two RBIs.

For the tournament, Broc Cramer was named to the All Tournament team because of his outstanding pitching performance, collecting a couple hits and making a some nice defensive plays.

  Overall, the coaches felt like playing in the AAA State Tournament is right where our boys need to be. Increasing our mental ability to stay in a ball game will be our biggest area to improve in. Baseball is a tough game for kids these ages and if we are able to hone in on doing that, it will not only help on the baseball field but in life as well. We are proud to coach these boys and look forward to an even better 2018 season. #nextpitch
